My Story
I lost my mom when I was twelve years old. In the quiet days that followed, one question filled my heart: where did she go? Was she met by angels? Was someone there to help her? Was she okay?
That question became the thread running through my whole life. Even as a little girl, I felt called to care for others, and that calling led me into nursing. Then one day, I saw a news story about therapy dogs bringing peace to patients at our local hospice, and I knew in my heart: this is where I am meant to be, in the sacred space between life and death.
For more than 25 years, I served as a hospice RN, sitting with thousands of patients and their families across more than 15,000 visits. It was the greatest privilege of my life. Long before I had a name for it, I noticed things at the bedside that my nursing training could not explain. A presence near the head of the bed. A soft light in the corner of the room. A quiet knowing that someone unseen had just walked in.
I studied every gentle way I could find to care for the whole person. I became a licensed massage therapist, a Healing Touch for Nurses therapist, and a certified Eden Energy Medicine practitioner, and I explored shamanic practices and meditation. My patients’ pain eased, their anxiety softened, and their spirits brightened. Then, during an energy medicine session, I saw my first angel: a lovely yellow-gold light with wings, high on the wall, radiating love. Soon after, departed loved ones began to appear at the bedside, and I came to understand that those who are dying are rarely alone.
It wasn't until I took a mediumship class that I truly understood what I had been experiencing all along, and that's where I finally found my answer. My mom came through. She was there, and she was close by. With every message, I healed in ways I didn't even know I needed.

Today, I am a retired hospice nurse and an evidential medium, teacher, and author living in San Marcos, Texas. I offer readings by Zoom and phone, teach intuitive and mediumship development classes, and co-host free healing circles. My book, Sat Beside You, shares the true stories I recorded in my journal at the bedside, just as they happened.

Mediumship, for me, is not performance and it is not magic. It is another form of listening, the same gentle awareness that helps a nurse notice what a patient cannot say in words. The dying seem to know instinctively that the space between this world and the next is thinner than most of us are taught. If I can help you know it too, so that you can grieve a little more gently, love a little more fully, and fear death a little less, then I am doing what I was called to do.
